Program Details

Our philosophy at New Life Preschool is learning through play. We believe that children will best learn in an environment of fun and opportunity. We offer a large indoor space and daily provide the following: art, computers, circle time, reading, gardening, science, block play, dramatic play, puzzles and special games to expand on pre-reading and pre-math skills. Outdoor space offers 3000 square feet of grassed, fenced yard with play structure, slides and obstacle courses set up regularly. Much time is spent outdoors in the summer. Director has a BA in Business and owned and operated childcare facilities for 15 years in both California and Idaho. The director also works as a child care mentor and assessor for Idaho. The director serves on the Child Care Advisory Board for Pocatello and is a member of the NAEYC (National Association for the Education of Young Children). Staff is CPR/First Aid trained and studying early childhood or elementary education.

Philosophy

New Life Preschool maintains a play based philosophy. We believe that young children learn best in an environment where they are engaged in play that interests them.

This play may entail any of the following:

• Cooking
• Gardening

• Reading
• Computer Time
• Outdoor Activities
• Field Trips

All of these activities stimulate physical, emotional cognitive and social growth. Interaction between children is essential in developing appropriate and acceptable social skills.

Discipline Policy

New Life Preschool encourages courteous, respectful behavior toward peers and adults. If a child finds difficulty in attitudes of basic human kindness, time outs are our choice of discipline.
